Hom. Robin Pollock
Robin is a registered homeopath with the College of Homeopaths of Ontario (CHO) and the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH), and an honours graduate and Fellow of the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine – what many consider to be the gold standard of classical homoeopathic education in North America.
Homoeopathy is by far thee most interesting and challenging of all of her academic endeavours, and there have been many. Her love of both the Sciences and Arts led her to the somewhat eclectic undergraduate studies of Anatomical Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Film. After strongly considering becoming a psychoanalyst, she turned her attention to Psychology, earning an Honours Bachelor degree and heading straight to doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology. She also studied for many years at the Canadian Group Psychotherapy Association and the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.
Robin loved practicing Psychology, but was drawn to alternate medical approaches because of an illness that traditional Medicine could not ameliorate, let alone eliminate. She very luckily was referred to a homoeopath and became curious about this medical discipline's rapid, gentle, and curative mandate. She remembers saying to her homoeopath, "You mean, you're not just going to relieve my symptoms...you're going to cure me?" And she can never forget the smile on his face and his quiet, confident nod.
Once Robin started reading about Homoeopathy, she couldn't stop. She got that feeling you get when you know you've met the right person to share yourself with, or when you instantly recognize that this is The Truth. And every time she sees a patient, watches a webinar, or reads a book on Homoeopathy, she still gets that same feeling.
She especially loves that there are no specialties in Homoeopathy, no one practitioner for the heart, another for your arthritis, and yet another for your depression, each ignoring that one has an impact on the other. We treat the whole person, because the whole you walks into the office, not pieces of you. Makes sense, doesn't it?
While still a student, Robin worked for over two years at WholeHealthNow and Homeopathic Housecall, where she moderated Homoeopathy webinars, coordinated freecasts, and worked as a copywriter, editor, and video producer. Homoeopathic education is very near and dear to her heart, and so she joined forces with Enlightenment Education to organize and teach homoeopathic webinars, and has organized several seminars/webinars for foreign homoeopathic doctors, bringing them to Toronto to teach.
Robin is creating an app – Mastering Materia Medica – to help homoeopaths and students to deeply learn our medicines. She has been enjoying educating Canadians about this magnificent, distinguished medical art through her work sitting on the Advisory, Content, and Education Committees of 4Homeopathy Canada, and supporting her colleagues by serving on the board of the North American Society of Homeopaths as Bi-national Liaison.
Robin has given seminars on Homeopathic Approaches to Childhood Anxiety and Herpes Simplex, and has published three articles in The American Homeopath. She also has taught webinars on such topics as Obstetrics, Epidemics, Repertorization, Anxiety in Children, Dentistry, Eating Disorders, and Sleep Disorders.
Robin feels that it is an absolute honour to be entrusted with your health care. She commends you for your interest in Homoeopathy and bold, forward thinking, and wishes you health, happiness, and harmony throughout your life.
